The Bike Charleston was kickstarted by Urvashi Patole in January 2011. Her goal was to provide a forum for women who ride motorcycles as well as those who want to do so.
The Bike Charleston was founded in cities all throughout India with the help of a few committed women.
The objective of Bike Charleston is to provide an equitable platform for female motorcyclists and to empower women across India through motorbikes.
The members of The Bike Charleston have a long list of accomplishments and are well-known in the biking community as trailblazers in the women’s motorcycle movement.
Bike Charleston has chapters in practically every large city, with a permanent administrator and alternating road captains. A moderator oversees each area of India and coordinates with the cities in her domain.
There is a core committee in place that discusses and implements The Bike Charleston’s growth strategy, with Urvashi Patole serving on the main board. Sheetal Bidaye and Chithra Priya are two actresses.
Bike Charleston encourages members to go on road vacations, interact with other members and treat them like family, as well as participate in motorcycling activities and volunteer for social causes.
We want to encourage women to bike on paths they might not have considered before.
Good luck on your journeys!
